Snipping Tool Gets Screen Recording in the Latest Windows 11 Update
The snipping tool is getting a major update in the latest version of Windows 11. In addition to capturing screenshots, the app can now record what is happening on the screen.
The clipping tool has long been a fan favorite on Windows, and that's probably why it escaped Microsoft's wrath in the first place. The clipping tool, which should have been stopped at some point, has not only survived, but is also receiving important updates.
The debut of Moment 2, the latest Windows 11 enhancement pack, witnesses the introduction of video recording support in the app.
Previously, these functions were mainly available in third-party software or on the Xbox gaming device, but everything has become much easier with the screenshot tool.
Microsoft has tried to make the process as easy as possible, so the app also includes a specific keyboard shortcut to start a new screen recording.
"We continue to expand the capabilities of this fan-favorite app so that you can now easily capture, save and share your cropping tool creations in the app. To use the screen recording feature, you can search for and launch the Cut tool on the taskbar until December and select the recording. Your screenshots are now automatically saved to a default folder, so you don't have to worry about losing them. Do you want to open the screenshot tool easily? Here is a keyboard shortcut: Windows Key + Shift key + S," Microsoft's Panos Panay said while announcing the new update of the screenshot tool.
The application is definitely becoming a first-class citizen of Windows 11, especially now that it has received features that have been missing for a long time. Tuesday Tuesday March 2023 Moment 2 is now available via Windows Update and Microsoft says that all Windows 11 version 22H2 devices will receive this as an automatic update on Tuesday Patch 2023.
